Volkswagen plans to capture the electric car market

Volkswagen revised its sales plans for electric vehicles and announced that it would reach the target of one million copies two years earlier, by the end of 2023

Volkswagen makes the main bet on the first-born of the new “green” line, the ID.3 hatchback. Its production at the plant in Zwickau, Germany, started in November, although sales will only begin next summer. According to the adjusted plan, ID.3 will help the group in the coming years to take a leading position in the e-mobility segment and will take on a large share of sales from the planned volume of one million cars by 2023.

Serious investments speak of grandiose plans. By 2024, all brands that make up the group will invest 33 billion euros in new projects, with Volkswagen itself investing eleven billion.
