Volkswagen Group Components, part of the Volkswagen Group, has come up with ways to simplify the charging of electric vehicles. For this, mobile refueling robots were created.
Robots are autonomous mobile modules equipped with a camera, a laser scanner, ultrasonic sensors and a manipulator. The charging process is as follows: a separate “unit”, together with a mobile battery, drives up to the car, activates charging and goes to other cars. Filling the batteries, the robot collects all the charging blocks and carries them to recharge.
Each mobile drive has a capacity of 25 kilowatt hours. There is support for DC charging up to 50 kilowatts. Controlled charging without human intervention. Moreover, you can call the robot either by force, through a mobile application, or he himself will understand that charging is required by “talking” with the car using V2X neural network technology.
