For the first time, the original version of Volkswagen Taigun was shown back in 2012 at the auto show in Sao Paulo. Then the crossover was compact and weighed less than a ton. Technically, Taigun is the closest relative of the Volkswagen Up. Both are built on the same platform. Initially, they planned to sell the model in Brazil and Europe, but after its debut in New Delhi six years ago, the project was frozen.
At the current auto show in the Indian capital presented serial Taigun. The name is the only thing that combines a completely new car with the 2012 concept. The crossover is built on the MQB A0 trolley and is designed exclusively for the local market. The new Taigun is an analogue of the European T-Cross, for the production of which Skoda will be responsible.

There are two gasoline engines in the engine range – a 1.0-liter with 115 hp and a 1.5-liter with 130 hp. There are also two gearboxes – a six-speed manual or a seven-speed robot. Drive – front. Launch the model will begin at the end of 2020.
