In Russia, bus and truck drivers will not be able to drive more than nine hours a day. The relevant decree was approved by the government. The author of the initiative was the Ministry of Transport, reports TASS. If necessary, the driver is allowed a continuous ten-hour ride, but this can be done no more than twice a week.
In addition, compulsory rest is introduced for drivers 4.5 hours after the start of the trip. Moreover, they must rest at least 11 hours a day. These restrictions apply to drivers of buses and cars with a permitted maximum weight of over 3.5 tons. It is planned to control drivers using tachographs. Starting November 1, 2019, these devices must be installed on all trucks and buses.
