Tesla has confirmed that the Roadster will enter series production only in 2023, six years after the initial presentation in 2017.
Elon Musk, the founder of the American brand Tesla, confirmed that the production of the Roadster model will be postponed for 2023, citing pandemics and problems with parts suppliers as reasons.
The Tesla Roadster will go into production in 2023
The second generation of the Tesla Roadster was originally introduced in 2017 and was postponed due to problems with the three-motor electric system developed by Tesla.
Musk added that the Cybertruck electric pickup will also go into production in 2023. The roadster initially had the year 2020 as the date for entering series production. Prices for the new Tesla model will start at $ 250,000 for the first 1,000 copies, grouped under the Founders Edition series, and later a Roadster will cost $ 200,000.
The model will have three electric motors and a 200 kWh battery, if the initially announced specifications are met.
Tesla says the Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96.6 km / h) in 1.9 seconds.
