Koenigsegg is preparing to break the world speed record for production cars. In March, the Mission 500 concept car will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
The name indicates the desire of the Swedes to develop a speed of 500 km / h. Details of the model are still kept secret, but most likely it will be a special version of the Koenigsegg Jesko hypercar.
The new Koenigsegg Jesko features a 5.0-liter 1600-liter twin-turbo V8. from. Theoretically, this power is enough to develop 500 km / h, although for the version of Mission 500 it can be increased. Recall that the experimental Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ developed 490 km / h, but it is heavier than Jesko.
Koenigsegg wants to regain the crown of the manufacturer of the fastest cars in the world. Recall that in November 2017, the Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg Agera RS already set a speed record of 444.6 km / h.
