In addition to his activities as Ferrari F-1 Team Leader, Jean Todt was appointed Ferrari’s new managing director on Tuesday.
The Frenchman will take up new duties on June 1 and will become the second official at Ferrari, reporting exclusively to Luca Cordero di Montezemolo.
Todt joined Ferrari in 1993 and under his leadership the stable won the last four world championships.
It is difficult to say how the increase in the leadership load will affect the “formulaic” activity of the Chef Ferrari. Will he be less likely to appear at the stages of the World Championship, will he shift some of his functions to technical director Ross Brown, and finally, will this weaken the dominant “stable” to some extent, time will tell.
