The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation came up with an initiative to attract private detectives to fight fraudsters in the car insurance market. With this proposal, the agency turned to the Bank of Russia and the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA). This is reported by “Izvestia” with reference to the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The Bank of Russia, in cooperation with the Russian Union of Motor Insurers, should develop the legal framework for outsourcing legal entities and individuals for detective work to gather evidence when submitting applications to law enforcement agencies,” the letter says.
This will also require a special bill, because at the moment, the evidence gathered by detectives now does not have a procedural status. In addition, at the moment, private investigators must obtain the written consent of the insured to conduct an investigation against him, which is practically impossible. The licensing of detectives in Russia is now engaged in the Rosguard.
The main direction in which insurance fraudsters work in compulsory motor liability insurance is the collection of payments from insurance companies through the courts. According to the president of the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA) and the All-Russian Union of Insurers (BCC) Igor Yurgens, at the moment whole organized criminal groups are recorded on the market.
