In Russia already this spring, an electronic service may appear on the portal of public services for appealing fines for traffic violations. The author of the initiative was Rafael Mardanshin, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on state building and legislation, Kommersant reports. We are talking about fines for traffic violations identified with the help of cameras or video cameras.
“Approximately in April-May, drivers will be able to appeal fines to the traffic police and the courts of first instance, by the end of the year – previously issued decisions in higher courts and regional fines, for example, orders for parking on the lawn of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate,” said Rafael Mardanshin.
This bill has already been supported by the governments of the Russian Federation and Moscow. In addition, the Ministry of Communications also announced the technical readiness of the service for launch. The ministry said that since January, testing of the interaction of traffic police information systems and the public services portal, necessary for the operation of the service, has been conducted.
