In the future, Tesla may install a 100 kWh battery in Model 3. This was announced on December 26 on the website CarsWeek.Ru.
It is expected that the upgrade of the electric car will happen in 2020. Information about a possible innovation spread after one of the owners of Tesla rummaged in her on-board computer, finding in it lines of code with a list of different configurations. One of them suggested a battery with a capacity of 100 kWh.
At the same time, there is no information on the battery capacity on the official website of the automaker. There, each model is characterized by a passport reserve. Other documents state that the Model 3 Long Range sedan has an 80.5 kWh battery. Moreover, from this resource in fact about 75–78 kWh are used.
In addition, it is possible that in 2020 the electric car may receive a new service pack called Ludicrous, which provides for an increase in the speed of the car to 60 mph.
Recall, Tesla plans to reduce the cost of Model 3 electric cars made in China by 20% and higher. For this, the automaker will increase the localization of its production in China.
