Skoda introduced a new gasoline engine with a cylinder shut-off system. The first new motor will receive models Kamiq and Scala
The new 1.5-liter TSI unit has 150 horsepower. and 250 Nm and can be paired with a 6-speed manual as well as with a 7-speed robotic DSG gearbox. The engine is equipped with Active Cylinder Technology.
Under light load, the ACT system automatically shuts off two engine cylinders to reduce fuel consumption, and the particulate filter holds particulate matter and makes the engine more environmentally friendly. According to the characteristics published by Skoda, in mixed mode gasoline consumption is from 5.4 to 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers for cars with a manual gearbox and 5.7-6.5 liters per 100 kilometers for cars with a robot.
