Members of the Government of the Russian Federation introduced a bill to the State Duma prohibiting Russian drivers from driving on toll sections of roads without payment, reports TASS. The document also states that owners of toll roads will not be able to independently introduce benefits for a certain category of drivers.
“It is proposed to introduce into the law on roads a ban on driving on toll roads, toll road sections on vehicles without paying tolls,” the explanatory note to the bill says.
The authors of the initiative emphasize that the law is primarily aimed at developing a system of toll-free toll roads in the Russian Federation.

According to the parliamentarian, the initiative is contained in the amendments to the law on social protection, which he is developing with a group of deputies. Subsequently, the project will be sent for consideration to the government.
