British reporters believe that technical commonality with ForFour Smart EQ means that Twingo Z.E. retains the rear-engine layout with a single electric motor with a capacity of up to 80 horsepower. In addition, Renault Citicar can “inherit” a Smart Battery with a capacity of 17.6 kilowatt hours from Smart: in this case, the range on one charge will be about 150 kilometers in the NEDC cycle.
A Renault-Daimler partnership may mean that the new Twingo Z.E. can be controlled using a special application for smartphones: the owner will be able to find out about the location of the electric car, battery level or share the car with friends.
