The board of directors of the French company Renault has chosen a new chief executive officer – this is Luca de Meo from the Volkswagen concern. Until January 7, de Meo led the Spanish Seat
De Meo will take up his new position in July this year, which will put an end to the confusion and leapfrog in the leadership of the concern. From January 24 to October 11, 2019, the post of director was held by Thierry Bollore, the closest ally of Carlos Ghosn. After his dismissal, Renault CFO Clotild Delbo was temporarily appointed to this position. After the appointment of de Meo, Madame Delbo will become his deputy.
Renault hopes that the arrival of the new director, who has nothing to do with Gon, will allow him to restart the alliance with the Japanese Nissan. Nissan welcomed the election of de Meo. “We all look forward to working with him and our alliance partners to achieve mutually beneficial growth and development,” said Makoto Uchida, president of the Japanese company.
