The brand intends to develop local production, and also plans to export Opel assembled in Russia in order to cover localization expenses.
This was announced by the vice president of the PSA group in Russia Alexey Volodin in an interview with TASS. According to him, to recoup the investments required for the successful implementation of Opel in Russia will help, in particular, the sale of cars abroad.
The concern plans to finalize localization plans taking into account the increase in utilization collection rates adopted by the government, Volodin stressed.
“It is necessary to consider the economic feasibility of maintaining such a level that was requested,” he said.
Many leading concerns represented in Russia began to raise prices from the beginning of January, the Avtorambler reported. On average, at dealerships, some cars have already risen in price by 2-6%, and this is not the limit: increased recycling rates by 110% have not yet been fully taken into account.
In mid-December, Opel announced its return to the Russian market after a four-year hiatus. So far, only two models are available for order – Grandland X and Zafira Life.
