The German manufacturer Porsche almost a year and a half after the release of the new generation of the cult sports car 911 Series 992 replenished its line with all-wheel drive models in the back of Targa. This modification has joined the already existing coupe and convertible.
The main distinguishing feature of the new items is an automatic retractable roof over the front seats and a rounded rear window, like the legendary 1965 Targa. You can open and close the crash in 19 seconds with just the click of a button. The manufacturer introduced two versions of the model in this body – 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S.
Both models feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that develops 379 hp on the 911 Targa 4. power and 450 Nm of torque, and on the 911 Targa 4S – 443 hp. and 530 Nm. Acceleration from standstill to “hundreds” takes 3.4 and 3 seconds, respectively. The top speed of the new 911 Targa 4 is 289 km / h and the 4S reaches 304 km / h. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox (PDK). As an option, the manufacturer offers the 911 Targa 4S a seven-speed manual gearbox that includes the Sport Chrono package. Moreover, this option can be ordered absolutely free.
The standard equipment of the sports car also included the proprietary PASM adaptive suspension with electronically controlled and two modes that provide perfect handling in any traffic situation, and an electronically controlled rear differential PTV Plus. Also in the wheels of the model there are sensors that determine the degree of moisture on the roads. As for the rims, the 911 Targa 4 comes with 19-inch alloy wheels on the front axle and 20-inch ones on the rear. The 4S is equipped with 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. In addition, the Targa 4 uses black four-piston monoblock calipers with 330 mm discs as standard. The 4S is equipped with six-piston calipers, painted in red, which have discs with a diameter of 350 mm. The Smartlift function has also appeared in the list of options, which allows you to increase ground clearance by 40 mm.
The interior of the 911 Targa is quite recognizable and largely follows the design of the 911 Carrera. It is characterized by clear, even lines of the dashboard, into which electronic devices are somehow recessed. The centerpiece is a multimedia system with a 10.9-inch PCM display and navigation.
You can pre-order both Targa models now on the manufacturer’s official website. To dealers, the model will only reach the end of this year. The cost of the 911 Targa 4 starts at 120 thousand dollars, and the 911 Targa 4S will cost at least 135 thousand dollars.
