While the whole army of fans of the Stuttgart brand held their breath in anticipation of the presentation of the new supercar, the hero of the occasion calmly rolls through the streets without a hint of camouflage. Porsche is going to present the best Turbo and Turbo S models of the 911 992 generation at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and at the moment it’s not entirely clear how the company made such a rash act.
Turbo models will retain the 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine of a standard car, but a pair of impressive turbochargers and some extra equipment will not confuse a thoroughbred stallion with ordinary herd ponies. From the factory, the Turbo S will receive 620 hp, while the regular Turbo will be only 50 forces weaker – its power will be at the level of 570 hp. However, even this figure speaks of a 30-strong increase, in comparison with the previous model. This should be enough to accelerate the car to the first hundred in less than three seconds and reach a maximum speed at around 320 km / h.
Both models will differ from the standard 911 with a body package that enhances downforce, which includes extended rear wheel arches, a fixed rear spoiler, side air intakes, and special bumpers. Most likely, both models will receive their own unique wheels, as well as a special color scheme.
Although the 992 mixed metal housing is lighter than the 991, its weight still exceeds its predecessor due to the heavier transmission and mandatory particulate filters. Porsche will confirm the official prices and specifications of the new model after the debut, but the projected price range starts at $ 170,000 for the standard 911 Turbo and ends at $ 200,000 for the Turbo S convertible.
The 911 Turbo at the Porsche booth in Geneva will be joined by the new six-cylinder GTS versions 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster.
