“We have a product development plan for 2020, during which the Opel line in Russia will be substantially expanded. We, of course, will not be limited to two models. At the end of the first quarter of 2020, we plan to launch the Vivaro van. The plans for this year launch up to three more models on the Russian market. That is, according to the results of 2020, if we succeed, the Opel line in Russia will be represented by six models, ”said Volodin.
The first two models that Opel introduced to the Russian market after its return are the Zafira Life minivan, that is, the converted Peugeot Traveler, and the Grandland X crossover. The latter is built on the EMP2 platform from Citroen C5 Aircross and Peugeot 3008/5008 and will be presented in the Russian market in three trim levels.
The power plant is the same for everyone: a 1.6-liter gas turbo engine with 150 horsepower and a six-speed automatic. The starting price of Grandland X is 1,799,000 rubles.
