The key tasks of the tests will be software tuning, changing the algorithms of the battery pack and chassis refinement. The rally Corsa-e will retain a full-time 136-horsepower electric motor and a regular battery with a capacity of 50 kilowatt hours. The rider will be able to choose from three modes of operation of the power plant: Competition with maximum efficiency, Rain for riding on slippery surfaces and Eco for maintenance and driving outside special stages.
It is planned that the “electric” Opel e-Rally Cup monocup will replace the competition of the “gas” junior Opel Adam Cup. Racing on electric cars will take place simultaneously with the stages of the German rally championship. According to Opel, the cost of the Corsa-e racing hatchback will not exceed 50 thousand euros. A total of 15 client vehicles will be prepared.
