At the end of November 2019, Skoda began to release a new generation of its popular Octavia model. However, soon a powerful modification may join it, which will be awarded the vRS nameplate
According to the British edition of Autocar, such modifications will receive 2.0-liter gasoline and diesel engines, and the most powerful gasoline of them can boast a return in the region of 250 hp. Acceleration to 100 km / h the fastest Octavia vRS will be given in 6.5 seconds. But the diesel engine is unlikely to become more powerful: the 181-horsepower unit will be “strangled.” The reason for this will be stricter European environmental standards.
A new “rechargeable hybrid” version will also appear on the basis of the 1.4-liter engine, which develops 204 hp under the hood of the Volkswagen Golf GTE, its battery allows you to drive 50 kilometers on a single charge. But for Octavia vRS Volkswagen can prepare its forced version with a capacity of around 250 hp. He will work with the proprietary dual-disk “robot” DSG, and acceleration to 100 km / h in such a machine should take about 7 seconds. The premiere of cars will take place at the Geneva Motor Show.
