In the coming years, Alfa Romeo will seriously expand its line of crossovers. Already soon Alfa Romeo Stelvio will have a younger brother Tonale, and then an even more compact crossover will be added to the model range.
According to Auto Express, the new model should appear in the next 24 months. The compact 4.1-meter crossover Alfa Romeo will compete with the Nissan Juke, Audi Q2 and Seat Arona. The developers promise a bright design with a proprietary “beak” and diode optics.
The CMP platform will be shared by new partners from the PSA Group. Recall that it is used by Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and 2008 and it allows the creation of an electric version. Most likely, the new Alfa Romeo will receive a 136-horsepower electric motor from the PSA Group and a 50 kWh battery that allows you to drive about 320 km without recharging.
In addition to the electric version, Alfa Romeo will receive 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engines and 1.5-liter turbodiesels. The drive will obviously only be front-wheel drive.
