Automobile industry analysts studied the sales figures for new motorcycles in the Russian market in 2019 and based on these data ranked the most popular models among Russians.
BMW motorcycles turned out to be the leader – over the past 12 months, 2258 of these models have been purchased in Russia (+20 percent compared to 2018). The second and third places were taken respectively by the Chinese Racer (1615 units, +60 percent) and the Indian Bajaj (1446 units, + 47 percent).
Harley-Davidson (969 units) and Motoland (897 units) also entered the top 5.
In total, last year the Russians purchased 13 thousand new motorcycles, which is 38% more than in 2018.
At the same time, every fourth motorcycle was purchased in Moscow (3172 units). Residents of the Moscow Region purchased 1403 units of motor vehicles, and St. Petersburg – 698 units. The Sverdlovsk region (529 units) and the Krasnodar Territory (426 units) were also among the five leaders in terms of the market volume of new motorcycles, the AUTOSTAT agency reports.
It was previously reported that sales of Japanese cars in Russia decreased by ten percent.
