Mercedes-Benz became the leader in sales in the cohort of prestigious brands – the Stuttgart three-pointed star holds the championship for the fourth year in a row.
In 2019, the Mercedes-Benz brand sold 2.34 million cars, increasing sales by 1.9% compared to the previous year. Moreover, Mercedes-Benz is finishing its ninth consecutive year with positive momentum.
Later, the competitors of the “three-pointed star” – the BMW Group and Audi – announced their results. It turned out that the first sold a total of 2.52 million cars, but the BMW brand accounted for 2.17 million cars, while the rest was distributed between the Mini and Rolls-Royce. At Audi sales increased by 1.8% and amounted to 1.85 million vehicles.
Meanwhile, in Russia, where premium car sales grew 4%, BMW is ahead of Mercedes-Benz. According to the Avtostat agency, 140.6 thousand units were sold in 11 months, of which 37.8 thousand units (+ 16%) fell to BMW. Next comes Mercedes-Benz (35.6 thousand units, + 8%), Lexus (19.6 thousand units, -10%), Audi (14.5 thousand units, + 0%), Volvo (7.7 thousand units , + 12%) and Land Rover (7.7 thousand units, -13%).
