The donor for the replica of the Dakar Porsche 953 was the Carrera 4 GTS 991.1 coupe. with a 3.8-liter boxer “six”, giving out 430 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and a manual gearbox. The car, commissioned by an unknown collector, was made by the British bodywork studio Xquisite. The project involved a tuning parts store ByDesign Motorsport from Saudi Arabia.
The sports car was equipped with a power body kit with a winch, an additional hinged lighting unit, new wheels and a spare wheel mount. The roof rack appeared. The body was painted in the colors of the Porsche 953.
The original racing Porsche 953 was built on the basis of the second-generation Porsche 911 Carrera. In total, three cars were made. In 1984, they started the start of the Paris-Dakar off-road marathon, but only two reached the finish line, taking the first (crew of Rene Metge and Dominic Le Mouin), and sixth (crew of Jacques X and Claude Brasser).
From the base car rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera, which entered the market in the same year 1984, the Porsche 953 was distinguished by a 3.2 deformed engine (225 hp), an all-wheel drive transmission with a locking center differential, no rear differential, a front suspension on double wishbones and a gas tank 270 liters.
