Sri Lanka’s Vega Innovations is planning to present its debut project at the Geneva Motor Show. This is an electric EVX supercar with all-wheel drive, a lithium-iron-phosphate battery and a mileage without recharging 240 kilometers.
Announced back in 2015, Vega was supposed to get a 900-horsepower power plant. However, now the company claims more mundane figures. The supercar will have two electric motors with a peak output of 300 kilowatts (408 forces and 720 Nm of torque) and a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with liquid cooling and an energy storage density of 220 watts per liter of volume (total capacity unknown). Acceleration times of up to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) for four seconds are announced exactly and a range of 240 kilometers.

There are a number of innovative solutions. Firstly, the company assures that it has developed very sophisticated control systems for the power plant, and secondly, some know-how has been applied to the layout of battery cells, a power control system and control software. Finally, the Vega EVX will receive a semi-autonomous driving system with lane control, recognition of signs and pedestrians.
Vega Innovations is part of the CodeGen Group, whose core business is software development. Chief Executive Officer Harsha Subasinghe holds a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Software Agents; Besan Kulapala, formerly CTO at Intel, holds the position of Director of Strategic Planning.
