Russians will be able to register a new car at a car dealership without visiting the traffic police, the corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. It is reported by Kommersant.
The resolution will come into force on January 1, 2020 together with the law “On state registration of vehicles.”
The new rules give Russians the opportunity to get a certificate of registration of a car and state registration marks directly at the car dealership. Such a service can be provided by companies included in the register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and having the status of a specialized organization.
Inspection of the vehicle and verification of the owner’s documents will be carried out by the responsible employee of the salon, after which all information will be sent to the State traffic inspectorate.
The driver will be able to pick up the certificate and registration and car number directly in the cabin after the vehicle is allowed to move.
