The fact that the Kia Seltos crossover was certified for the Russian Federation was announced in early December. Then it became known that the Kaliningrad Avtotor had already begun assembling machines for our market. Now the Russian office of the brand called the price of one of the complete sets. True, for some reason, Kia decided to disclose the price tag of not the basic version, but either the middle one, or even the top one – Luxe. In addition, a model page appeared on the local brand website.
So, Seltos in the Luxe version with a 2.0 MPI gasoline engine (149 hp, 180 Nm), a Smartstream IVT V-chain variator and front-wheel drive will cost at least 1,349,900 rubles. The list of equipment of this configuration announced a multimedia system with an 8-inch touch screen, climate control, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and 16-inch wheels. For comparison, the top version of the 2020 Hyundai Creta model year (Seltos analogue) with a two-liter engine and front-wheel drive costs 1,280,000 rubles, but Kreta has a six-speed “automatic” instead of a CVT, and a multimedia 5-inch display ( otherwise, the equipment is the same as that of Seltos).
According to the Vehicle Type Approval, in Russia the Kia Seltos will still be available with an “aspirated” 1.6 MPI in combination with a 6MKP or 6AKP and a turbo four 1.6 T-GDI, which is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. With the base engine, the cross will be offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (in the first case, the engine produces 123 hp, in the second – 121 hp), the turbo version, judging by the OTTS, will only have four-wheel drive.
All configurations and prices in the company promise to reveal later. At the same time, the Russian Kia website indicates that for Seltos there are also six airbags, a projection display, dynamic interior lighting, a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch screen, cruise control, blind spot monitoring systems and exit assistance parking in reverse.
Recall, the world premiere of the new Kia crossover took place last summer, the model is already available in Korea, Australia, India, South Africa and China. Seltos will enter our market early next year. Other versions are also likely to be more expensive than the Creta. By the way, the base Hyundai cross with a 123-horsepower 1.6, 6MKP engine and front-wheel drive in the Russian Federation today will cost 957,000 rubles.
