Kia has released a set of images with the Ceed facelift family. The optical modifications were operated for both the Ceed hatchback model and the Ceed Sportswagon and Proceed versions. The facelift is coming relatively fast, the current model being launched in 2018.
Kia Ceed facelift
The Kia Ceed is the most popular model in the Korean manufacturer’s range, and the changes are meant to keep customers’ interest in the compact model fresh. The changes were made to the Ceed hatchback, SW and Proceed versions, and later, the facelift will be operated to the XCeed model.
The design changes are visible on the front, where Kia has adopted a new radiator grille, redesigned optical blocks and different taillights for the GT-Line and GT versions. Spoilers are also redesigned, and the rims are new. The color range receives four new shades: Lemon Splash, Machined Bronze, Yucca Steel Gray and Green Experience. The new versions also address the new Kia logo.
Inside, the changes are minor. New upholstery variants have appeared, and the derailleur lever has been modified. The digital dashboard remains unchanged.
In the range of engines now appears the 1.0 turbo three-cylinder unit of 120 hp that can be equipped with mild-hybrid system. The 160 hp 1.5 turbo engine takes the lead, replacing the 1.4 turbo engine. The 204 hp 1.6 turbo engine with DCT automatic transmission for the Ceed GT version also remains in the range. Customers can also choose the 1.6 CRDI diesel engine with 136 hp and mild hybrid system.
Kia also offers a plug-in hybrid version, available only for the SW version, which uses the 1.6 engine and 44.5 kW electric motor powered by an 8.9 kWh battery. The system offers a total power of 141 hp and 265 Nm. The full electric range is 58 kilometers.
The Kia Ceed facelift goes into production in August at the Kia plant in Zilina, Slovakia, with the first deliveries to take place at the end of the year.
