Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the production version of the eSprinter electric van. The novelty is able to drive at full load without recharging up to 168 kilometers and reach a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour
The technical filling of the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is the same as that of the utilitarian eVito minivan: a 114-horsepower (295 Nm torque) electric motor is installed on the front axle, a traction battery with a capacity of 41 or 55 kilowatt hours is located under the floor. With a base battery, the power reserve of the electric Sprinter is only 115 kilometers, and the carrying capacity reaches 1,040 kilograms. With a 55 kilowatt-hour battery, the maximum permissible load drops to 900 kilograms, and autonomy increases to 168 kilometers.
Interestingly, when buying an eSprinter, you can equip a speed limiter at around 80, 100 or 120 kilometers per hour. To save battery, the driver can choose one of four modes of regenerative braking or reduce the power of the air conditioner. Mercedes-Benz claims that with the help of a quick charger, the battery of an electric car can be recharged from zero to 80 percent in just half an hour.
