In 2019, the average OSAGO premium decreased by 5% compared to 2018. This was announced by President of the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA) Igor Yurgens. According to him, a decrease in the average premium for compulsory “car citizens” is noted in 74 regions, where more than 95% of all car owners live.
So, by more than 10%, the average premium in five regions decreased, where 3.4% of all car owners live. These are the Magadan region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Republic of Komi, Perm Territory and Belgorod Oblast. To this, by more than 5%, the average premium in 30 regions of the Russian Federation decreased, in which a total of 48.6% of car owners live. The largest of them are Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Republic of Tatarstan.
“We see that according to the results of 2019, the results of the launch of the reform on individualization of tariffs coincided with the predicted ones — most car owners began to pay less for compulsory motor liability insurance. However, pressure on the market economy of compulsory “auto-citizen” is growing. So, since December 1, the cost of an average “basket” of spare parts according to updated directories has grown by almost 10%, ”Jurgens said.
