Although cars have been assembled in Turkey under license for several decades, their own brand has appeared for the first time in the country. The presentation of the first Turkish-made car under the TOGG brand, according to Autoblog, was held by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The novelty is a mid-size crossover with an electric power plant and a wheelbase of 2800 millimeters. Later, four more cars will appear in the model range of the TOGG brand: a compact crossover, sedan, hatchback and compact van. The formation of the lineup should be completed by 2030.
The first TOGG crossover will be available in a 200-horsepower version with an electric motor on the rear axle or a 400-horsepower version with electric motors on both axles. The youngest modification will be able to accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.6 seconds, the oldest – in 4.8 seconds. The cruising range will be 500 kilometers, fast battery charging in less than half an hour and the “autopilot” of the third level will be available. The construction of an automobile plant in Turkey will be completed in 2021, and in 2022 the first serial electric crossover will be released. After that, TOGG are going to sell for export.
