BMW will send for repair 19,087 copies of the X6 and X6 M, which were sold in Russia from 2017 to the present, Rosstandart reports. It turned out that with frequent use of the Isofix child seat mounts, the holding brackets could break and the baby would not be safe to transport.
As part of the recall, the fastening will be checked on the cars and, if necessary, free repair will be carried out: an intermediate insert will be welded to the holding bracket.
A similar problem was previously identified in other models of the Bavarian brand. For example, several years ago, for the same reason, 30 thousand crossovers X3 and X4 were withdrawn in Russia. As with the X6, the Isofix retaining brackets in the rear seats did not have sufficient strength.
In November 2019, BMW conducted a recall campaign of the X3 and X4 due to a build error. Then the repair was needed for 36 cars sold from October to the present. The reason is that the factory could incorrectly fix the right, left or both swing bearings. The identified defect threatened with the loss of the steering system of the wheel suspension.
