45 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget to support the automotive industry during 2020. This was announced by the Director of the Automotive Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Pak at the Sber Pro online conference, reports TASS

“As a result of the global economic crisis, which was caused by the pandemic and falling oil prices, the demand for automobiles in all automotive markets decreased significantly. The Russian market is also in this general negative trend, ”Pak explained the need for state support.

The funds are distributed as follows: preferential car loans – 17 billion rubles, preferential car leasing – 8 billion rubles, the new program “Affordable rent” – 2.5 billion rubles. Subsidies to manufacturers of gas engine equipment amounted to 3.3 billion, 4.5 billion were allocated for outstripping state purchases of cars, and 10.2 billion rubles were allocated for the purchase of ambulances and reanimobiles. At the same time, Pak noted that more than 90% of the cars that were in the support program would not be sold without preferential terms.
