At the CES 2020 Consumer Electronics Show, which opens in early January, Honda will introduce innovative Augmented Driving technology, that is, “Augmented Driving”
This technology combines the functions of a fully autonomous and semi-autonomous driving. As the company explains, the development was created specifically for the transition period – when some consumers are already ready to abandon the need to drive a car, but another part still wants to be involved in the process.
It is curious that the system itself was integrated into the layout of a certain convertible in which a special steering wheel was installed (an important part of the system). This steering wheel, being equipped with a whole set of sensors, implies several principles of interaction: you can double-tap on it to start the engine, pull it toward you to slow down or push it away to accelerate. The control of the car in this case is not carried out directly, but through the augmented driving system: the car listens to the wishes of the driver, however, the decision will ultimately be made by the automation.
