30 thousand Polestar electric vehicles will roll off the assembly line of the new enterprise per year
Geely Holding Group plans to build a plant in the Chinese city of Chongqing, where it will establish the production of premium electric Polestar vehicles, Reuters reported, citing unnamed sources. According to preliminary data, the capacity of the future enterprise will amount to 30 thousand vehicles per year. Neither Geely nor Polestar have confirmed this information yet.
Polestar cars are currently being assembled at a factory in the industrial center of Chengdu, China, which opened in late summer 2019. This enterprise is positioned as “one of the most environmentally friendly industries in the country.” The production of the Polestar 1 hybrid has already been launched there, and the Polestar 2 electric fastback joined it this spring.
