The largest Russian automaker AvtoVAZ from January 1, 2020 will increase the recommended retail prices for all its Lada cars by an average of 2%. This was told to reporters by employees of three dealer companies.
“The sedan of the best-selling family of cars in Russia – Granta – will cost from 455,900 rubles, having risen in price by 2.5%, or by 11,000 rubles. The Vesta sedan in the basic configuration will rise in price by 3.8% to 629,900 rubles. (plus 23,000 rubles.), Lada 4 × 4 three-door SUV – by 2.9% to 538,900 rubles. (plus 15,000 rubles). The most expensive car in the Lada lineup – the Vesta Sport sedan – will rise in price in the base version by 1.5% to 1,042,900 rubles. (plus 15,000 rubles), ”the newspaper Vedomosti writes.
The causes of price increases are called inflation and the traditional change of model year.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia in the new year, prices for all middle-class cars, without exception, will increase by 35-100 thousand rubles. According to automakers, this will happen due to the expected increase in recycling fees, which will increase 2.5 times for some categories of cars.
“All cars will rise in price from at least 35 to 100 thousand rubles in the middle price segment, this is an axiom,” said Vladimir Popov, head of the Favorit Motors group of companies.
Among the major automotive holdings, an increase in value has already been announced, in particular, by Mitsubishi, Jaguar Land Rover, Chevrolet and Cadillac. Prior to this, the Russian authorities promised to try to restrain the increase in car prices, but so far, apparently, they are not able to do this.
