Ford has developed vibrating wristbands that help maintain the proper distance between people during the coronavirus pandemic
According to Bloomberg, they have already begun testing on a group of volunteers at a plant in Michigan. If the test is successful, Ford plans to start mass production of bracelets when all the company’s enterprises return to full work. This will happen no earlier than mid-May.
As for the functionality, the only mechanism of the device is a warning that a safe distance has been violated. Vibration begins when the distance between the two bracelets is reduced to six feet (1.83 meters). This distance, according to the rules introduced in the USA, must be respected by people to combat the spread of coronavirus.
