In Russia, fines may be imposed for fraudsters who sell cars that do not meet the declared specifications. According to Izvestia, the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD) took this initiative. The organization said that the discussion of the punishment for twisting the mileage of used cars will be held in the State Duma in February this year.
The ROAD expects that the fine for this fraud will be from 300 thousand to one million rubles. In turn, the deputy head of the State Transport and Construction Committee of the State Duma, Alexander Starovoitov, proposed introducing a more severe punishment – even criminal.
