The NHTSA emphasized that the figure of 10 million is an estimate, the exact number of vehicles recalled will be determined later. Recently, the upcoming recall was announced only in Subaru – the company will repair 500,000 vehicles with explosive pillows Takata. These are Forester, Impreza, WRX, Legacy, and Outback, released between 2003 and 2014. Subaru’s global recall also affected the Russian market: at the end of 2019, more than 42 thousand cars were sent for repairs.

The problem with the airbags of the Japanese company Takata is that with prolonged use of the car and in a humid climate, the gas generator can explode and literally “shoot” the driver with passengers with metal structural elements. For this reason, two dozen people have already died, and the number of victims has exceeded one hundred.
