The chief engineer of the legendary Italian manufacturer told about the architecture of the SUV
In a conversation with AutoExpress, Ferrari chief engineer Michael Leuters emphasized that the Italian company will simultaneously develop two architectures for front and rear engine models. The first-born of a modular platform for front-wheel Ferrari, which will be designed off-road vehicle, was a supercar Roma, presented a month ago.
Interestingly, the new “truck” allows the use of six-, eight- or twelve-cylinder engines in combination with an electric motor, but Ferrari engineers believe that electrification of the V12 will invariably lead to the creation of a large and heavy car, which will negatively affect its dynamic characteristics. Therefore, it is most likely that the Purosangue SUV will enter the market with a smaller engine.
