Citroen Introduces the E-Dispatc All-Electric Delivery Van. Following the models C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid and Ami, the novelty continues the philosophy of electrification of cars of the brand – electrification for all. So, by 2021, the company promises to present 6 electric Citroen models. Moreover, by next year, all commercial vehicles of the brand will have executions operating 100% on electric traction.
As for the E-Dispatch van, it will appear in the showrooms of British dealers already in the second half of 2020, the electric Relay will arrive in time by the end of the year, and the electric Berlingo Van is expected to debut in 2021.
The E-Dispatch van should continue the success of its fellow with ICE, which appeared on the market in 2016 and since then has sold over 145 thousand units. Electric is built on a modular platform EMP2, a feature of which is the placement of batteries directly in the chassis, which does not affect the internal volume of the cargo compartment.
Customers will be offered batteries of two capacity options – 50 and 75 kWh, with 18 and 27 separate modules and a range of up to 228 and 328 km, respectively (with a WLTP cycle).
You can choose three options in length, including the most compact – 4.6-meter XS with a cargo compartment volume of 5.1 cubic meters. The most capacious is the 5.3-meter XL, which has a compartment of up to 6.6 cubic meters. This volume was made possible by the use of a folding two-seat passenger seat Moduwork, which increases the length of the cargo compartment by 1.16 m.
The carrying capacity of the van reaches 1275 kg, which is the best indicator in the class among electric competitors. The distance between the wheel arches is 125 cm, which makes it possible to transport Euro pallets. It is important that the overall height of the E-Dispatch is only 190 cm, which allows you to easily enter the underground parking and parking lots of shopping centers.
If we talk about the power unit, the car is driven by an electric motor with a capacity of 100 kW with a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The maximum speed is 130 km / h. The driver can choose one of three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Power. When “economical”, the performance of the air conditioner and heating system decreases, but without completely shutting them down, the power and torque of the electric motor are also limited. A warranty of 8 years or 160 thousand km is provided for the power unit and batteries.
Batteries can be charged in three ways. Firstly, from an ordinary home outlet. Secondly, with the help of Wallbox on 32A and 7.2 kW – 8 or 11 hours up to 100% capacity. And finally, through a 100 kW ultrafast station: 50 kW batteries “fill up” in 30 minutes, and 75 kilowatt batteries in 45 minutes.
Citroen E-Dispatch is available in four trim levels to choose from. Let’s start with Worker, which is designed for the construction segment. Next is the more comfortable “X”, which already includes the RD6 MP3 Bluetooth Radio and electrically heated and heated exterior mirrors. The Enterprise package offers a rear tron-park, air conditioning, alarm, light and rain sensors, a 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple Car Play / Android Auto, as well as a folding Modowork two-seater passenger seat.
And finally, the top version is Driver. It has the same features as Enterprise plus a front tron-park, a blind spot monitoring system, a 180-degree rear-view camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a Citroen Connect Navigation voice-activated navigation system. In addition, this also includes a “dangerous package” consisting of the Lane Departure Warning marking tracking system, adaptive speed limiter, smart high beam and Active Safety Brake.
Citroen E-Dispatch customers can also choose a unique option. Namely – the system of opening the side sliding door “hands free”, which is activated by a wave of the foot under the rear bumper. You can also install keyless entry into the cabin – with unlocking door locks and starting the engine.
