Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix postponed due to coronavirus

The decision was made following a joint discussion by representatives of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the group of companies responsible for promoting the Formula One Group (FOM) championship. Now representatives of organizations are trying to find suitable dates for the transfer of the stage, but so far there is no complete certainty that this will be possible to do at all.

Due to the cancellation of the stage in China, a break for the whole month appeared in the calendar of the championship. The Vietnam Grand Prix will be held on April 3, and the next race, in the Netherlands, starts only on May 3.

The 2020 championship was supposed to be a record in the number of stages – for the first time in the calendar they were announced 22. However, if the commission still fails to find a date for the transfer of the Chinese Grand Prix, this record will not be broken.
