Autonews experts told readers how the innovation for registering new cars in salons works, as well as why owners are advised to drive the car to MREO on a tow truck.
Since January 1, as Rambler previously reported, with the introduction of electronic PTS, car dealers have been obliged to send data to the traffic police to register the car and assign it registration marks. At the same time, the law states that from now on, car owners must receive plates with numbers either at car dealerships or in specialized organizations. Given the changes, motorists who bought a new car, according to the law, now do not have 10 days to get a license plate. Therefore, leaving the cabin without a plate screwed onto the car today is fraught with a fine of 5 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of rights for a period of 3 months.
Journalists found out that car dealers were not ready for innovations: in particular, in the Avtomir dealership center they said that it is still impossible to register a new car in car dealerships.
“The traffic police of the constituent entities of the Federation do not know how car dealerships should go through accreditation and be admitted to the registration process. We are waiting for clarification, ”the publication quotes a representative of the company.
The registration departments of the traffic police confirm that they “just talked on TV” about the changes, but in reality “nothing has changed”. It was explained to reporters that the 10-day period for receiving numbers in fact has not been canceled, however, only drivers living in the region at the place of circulation can receive state signs in the registration departments of the STSI. The rest will have to produce registration marks at their own expense.
In order to avoid misunderstandings on the road, in one of the departments, the journalists were advised to bring a new car for registration at the MREO right on the tow truck.
