The Chinese company Chery and the American holding HAAH Automotive are preparing to launch several Exeed models in the US and Canada. In these markets, cars will be sold under the Vantas brand.
The first model under this brand will be the Exeed TXL, which will compete with the Honda Passport and Nissan Murano. Next on sale will go Exeed VX, with the production of both crossovers planned to be organized in the United States. At the first stage, it will be a screwdriver assembly and more than half of the components will be delivered from China. HAAH Automotive did not specify at which particular plant they would start production of cars, nor did they name the dates. According to preliminary data, Vantas of local assembly will appear at dealers not earlier than 2021.
Recall that under the Exeed sub-brand created by Chery, premium cars are produced. It is curious that at least one model has already been confirmed for Russia – during 2020, Exeed TX will reach Russian dealers. This crossover is comparable in size to the Nissan X-Trail, and it is driven by a 190-horsepower 1.6-liter gasoline engine in combination with a “robot”, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
