Glasses will be equipped with a system from Continental, which will allow better temperature control
A system called Intelligent Glass Control, developed by Continental, an automotive component supplier, has been used in cars since 2017, mainly for panoramic roofs. The film covering the glass can very quickly change the degree of transparency, both as a whole and in individual areas. This will not only hide passengers from the eyes of strangers, but also increase the efficiency of the air conditioning system: by monitoring the position of the sun using special sensors, the on-board electronics of the BMW iNext will darken the corresponding sections of the windows so that the interior does not heat up.
Recall that the conceptual version of the BMW iNext was declassified in 2018, and the production version should be released in 2021. For the Bavarian manufacturer, this will be the first model combining three key technologies – an electric drive, an advanced autopilot and a constant high-speed Internet connection.
