BMW I8 has come to an end

The company will stop the production of hybrid coupes and roadsters in exactly three months

The British publication Autocar, citing its sources, claims that the i8 will be removed from the assembly line in April. In the UK, BMW dealers have already begun to lower prices for the hybrid G8. Meanwhile, the company has not yet officially announced the end date for the production of the model.

Also, information about the successor to the model, according to which the car will be built within five years using the technology of the BMW i Motorsport Formula E racing division, is not confirmed in any way. It is important to note that according to preliminary data, the successor will be transferred to a “clean” electric traction. Recall that the prototype of the hybrid sports car BMW i8 was first shown in September 2009 in the form of the Vision EfficientDynamics concept. The serial embodiment of the model was released in 2014.
