Autonet Group Holding has started construction works for a new robotic logistics center near the city of Turda.

The Autonet Group announced the start of works for a third logistics center in Moldovenești, near Turda. Once completed, this warehouse will be added to the other two main logistics units in Satu-Mare and Popești-Leordeni.
The center near Turda is part of a larger project to develop the logistics infrastructure of the Autonet group, which includes two more such centers, in Bucharest and Budapest. The main objective of this project is to streamline the supply and distribution of goods to customers in the Central European region, each of the three warehouses being equipped with robotic storage modules AutoStore. Moreover, plans for a landfill in Belgrade have been finalized, for which work has begun on obtaining permits.
“The special conditions of the last two years have made the works a little behind the initial plan, but now we are glad that we managed to start the construction of this new distribution center, which represents an investment of 30 million euros. Along with the warehouses in Bucharest and Budapest, this new unit is part of a larger development project, whose value amounts to 55 million euros, “said Cristian Matei, operational director of Autonet Import Romania.
The new distribution center will be located on a plot of 11 hectares and will have a total area of 22,700 square meters and 49 loading / unloading gates. The AutoStore automatic module will contain 120,000 boxes, or storage units, 70 robots and 20 workstations. Additionally, the warehouse will include storage space for 12 thousand pallets.
When it is put into use, the distribution center near Turda will become, along with those in Satu-Mare and Popești-Leordeni, an important logistics hub in Romania. For Autonet Group Holding partners, this will mainly mean faster distribution and high availability, in addition to other logistical benefits.
