In the base of Rosstandart there was an extended Type Approval Certificate for the vehicle on the Audi Q7 and Q8, which included information about the “sports” versions of both crossovers with the letter S in the name. SQ7 and SQ8 models were certified in Russia with a simplified and less powerful power plant.

The certificate began to operate on December 23, 2019. It follows from the document that the SQ7 and SQ8 will offer a 421 horsepower four-liter V8 turbocharged engine. For comparison, in Europe, both cars can be bought with the same engine and electric supercharger, and the output of the power plant is 435 forces. In both cases, the torque is the same – 900 Nm. “Russian” crossovers also put four-wheel drive and an eight-band automatic transmission.

Prices and specifications of both models will be declassified closer to the start of sales. In the meantime, it is known that SQ7 can be bought in Germany for 95 thousand euros, and SQ8 – for 103 thousand, which in terms of rubles is 6.6 and 7 million, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that Audi had problems with the localization of Q7 production in Russia. The company collected at the facilities of Kaliningrad Avtotor a test batch of crossovers of 250 copies, but could not agree with Volkswagen management to continue production in full mode.
