Aston Martin management decided to abandon the serial production of the Rapide E electric car, which was supposed to be the first “green” car in the line of the British brand. About this with reference to its own source reports the publication Autocar.
The first prototype electric car was introduced in 2015, and two years later, the British decided to launch the Rapide E in a series. A product version developed jointly with Williams Advanced Engineering was shown in April 2019.
The car received an 800-volt on-board network and a battery pack with a shell made of carbon and Kevlar. The battery consists of more than 5600 lithium-ion cells. Batteries feed two electric motors on the rear axle, developing 610 liters. from. and 950 Nm of torque. The liftback can accelerate from zero to 96 km / h in less than four seconds, while accelerating from 80 to 110 km / h takes one and a half seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 250 km per hour. Now the British will concentrate on the release of their first crossover DBX, which sales will begin in 2020, including in Russia. The car is equipped with a four-liter V8 with two turbines, which develops 550 liters. from. and 700 Nm of torque. A crossover with such a motor is capable of gaining “a hundred” in 4.5 s, and its maximum speed was 291 km per hour. In Russia, prices for DBX start at 14.2 million rubles.
