Auto Shanghai 2021 debuts today, an exhibition that delights enthusiasts with its exhibits but, especially, with the title of “the first major car exhibition with the public during the pandemic”.
The Shanghai car show begins today with the first two days dedicated to the press. Then, between April 21 and 23, the 12 halls reserved for the event will be dedicated to specialists, so that, between April 24 and 28, the general public can admire the news presented by car manufacturers around the world.
According to the organizers – China Association of Automobile Manufactures and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – at this year’s edition, arranged on a total area of 360,000 sqm, exhibit about 1,000 companies producing cars and car components.
As expected, the first car show with the public during the pandemic has as main themes electromobility, connectivity, autonomous driving and new concepts of mobility, all grouped under the slogan “Embracing Change” (“Embracing change”).
As the Chinese market, the largest in the world and the first to recover from the crisis caused by the pandemic, is extremely important at this time for all major car manufacturers, at Auto Shanghai 2021 are present all the big names in the industry. In fact, the German car industry, with the support of the VDA, has its own exhibition space.
And, if we keep talking about the Germans, let’s say that at Auto Shanghai 2021 there are world premieres such as Audi A6 e-tron, Audi Q5L, BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQB or Volkswagen ID.6.
Also, among the important premieres of the event are Nissan X-Trail, Kia EV6, Cadillac Lyriq or Buick Verano, as well as concepts that foreshadow the cars of the future.
